If I could recommend any book about blogging, it would definitely be “Platform” by Michael Hyatt. I just read it once and couldn’t put it down. Now I’m about to read it again. It’s worth way more than its weight in gold.
I’m reading it right now! I saw that it had many, many high reviews, and I’m almost 10% into the book (reading on my phone Kindle). So far, I’m already learning-very good info!

Jamie, you read my thoughts exactly! I absolutely devoured Platform as soon as I got it, continually recommend it, implement it, and will likely regularly refer to its wisdom to the decisions I will have to make concerning my blogging, writing, publishing, and more! Thank God for Michael Hyatt!

I, too, would recommend “Platform.” I had the privilege of being on the launch team for that book. I read the book for the purpose of review. Then I turned right around and read it for the purpose of making my own project plan. Then I took a deep breath and realized that my most urgent need was to have a real blog. I did it backwards, because of my ignorance, but the first thing I did was to commit to post five days a week. Hyatt says you need to post often and you need to post on a schedule the reader can count on, so that was my decision. However, that decision exposed the deep truth that I didn’t know exactly what my blog was about. I was struggling to get those five posts up every week.
The book “Platform” led me to get serious and get professional about my blog, and it changed everything. The week I started my posting schedule, I had three followers. I had had three followers for two years. Now I add at least one follower every week. That isn’t record-breaking, but it is a real accomplishment for me. I need to work through more of the recommendations, but the admonition to write regularly, to write professionally, and to say something important for my readers keeps me very busy. I now consider that my blog is my real profession, and I expect my book to grow out this work. Every blogger needs to read “Platform.”

I just started my blog about a month ago, its been a lot harder then I realized. I definitely will put this on the top of my reading list. Thanks for the good advice.
