  1. I don’t do giveaways. I write about topics that I believe call for both spiritual and intellectual depth. To offer giveaways of the sort I have seen on other blogs seems to trivialize my subject matter.
I have thought about giving away something in order to entice more people to subscrie. I just haven’t come up with either the right gift or the right method to do it. I could be technical, but I hate it. I simply don’t want that job, so I just want a point and click solution for me as well as the same simplicity for my readers. I may just give away something relevant to my topic for the pure joy of giving.
I know some very serious writers who always have some promotion running. They are giving away on the blog, or they are giving away their book for one day, or etcetera. It wearies me to visit a site like that, and I don’t want my readers to feel the way i do.
    So I don’t do giveaways.

  2. I haven’t done giveaways yet of the sort where you have to enter to win. I can’t afford them yet because my blog isn’t monetized yet. But I am giving away other things – free worship music, free Scriptural blessing cards, and soon a free artistic ebook. Anyone can download the music. The blessing cards and ebook are just for subscribers. I’d love to do more giveaways in the future, but I need my blog to be able to cover its expenses before I start buying books to give away.

  3. I do not do giveaways either. Most of my writing is centered on teaching the scriptures and the ancient christian writings. I don’t think giveaways would incentivise people to visit my blog or to read the thoughts I post there. I did at one point advertise my blog on Google Add-words but stopped since I did not see the return traffic. Hope this helps

  4. I generally don’t do giveaways, but I as just published a book, I have a giveaway of the book listed through goodreads.com for the month of February.

  5. We do giveaways to promote an upcoming issue and support other blogs or community forums. I don’t invest a whole lot of money into it, but we do it for the business side of our magazine/blog, not necessarily content. I believe the gospel is free.
