Thanks Courtney for this wonderful reminder. Having a purpose would really give one's blogging directions so even if the blog has been established for quite some time already, the blogger would still know what to blog or write about.

We started blogging to teach about the things the Lord taught us and to earn some extra income, as the single income was just not cutting it. Carpal tunnel became a serious problem in keeping up the blog. Though we loved to talk about the things God showed us and the revelations we learned, it became apparent that I would not be able to keep up with the writing (typing). The artwork did seem to bring in search traffic, so we opened a new blog to help teachers have a resource for art projects, for personal use and to hopefully, still earn some kind of an income from it.

As with most bloggers, we learn what does not work and we are still trying to learn what will work. We love the creative process as it makes us more connected to our Creator so we are using the roots of faith and heritage to express this at our blog. My daughter does computer graphics so we hope to be able to sell some to keep us afloat. Therefore it is necessity, the desire to help teachers, the love of creating that prompts our blog: Artful Trillium. We explain why the name in two post listed here:

http://artfultrillium.blogspot.com/2011/09/why-name.html

Do come for a visit.

After going to Kevin Brownlee's blog post, it is the precise reason we homeschooled our children, conviction from Scriptures. We were given a study about what God calls parents to, it made us realized the God given responsibility to train up our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Our son went to the public school for two years. In that time, he was sent home numerous times for speaking the truth about creation or salvation. We felt if a teacher could not handle the convictions of a 5 or 6 year old, something was seriously wrong.

After 6 months of studying the Word of God about a parent’s responsibility we concluded, home school was the right thing to do. As it was, my health turned really bad and I had to be isolated due to a condition like the boy in the bubble. Being home full time with my children, I learned as much as they did about true education and the call to seek Christ in all things.

We never regretted the choice to school at home, it helped us to win the hearts of our children and teach them the ways of the Lord.

When I am feelingoverwhelmed, depressed, or down I refer to these Bible verses: Romans 8:28, Psalm 23, Psalm 34, Psalm 91 and there is a scripture I like in Lamentations about God's faithfulness is new every morning. Also, there are a couple of favorites in Isaiah. Something about He knows the plans for us, for good not evil. Might have it quoted wrong.

The bible says that "whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven, and whatever we loose on earth is loosed in heaven. Si, I bind depression and fear and loose joy. Then I speak out the scriptures that pertain to joy in the word of God.
The two following posts are some other spritual warfare for depression and fear that I posted on my blog..

The reason I homeschool is not just for the Christian values or biblical insight....
I homeschool because I know the education my child is getting and don't have to worry about other imput with my child....or threats from other children or teachers....or worring about wheather someone is going to harm my child....or if my child will come home that day.... or being stalked at the playground....and so on....
I have other children who went to public school after homeschooling for sometime and the outcome couldn't be good....
Well, homeschool is a blessing and a tool to bring up a child in the way he will go....
You, also have freedom for vacations and no bad wheather days off ....
Freedom to change curriculum or use several if you want , and to advance the child as quickly as they want to....There are so many good programs and materials to use....

Hi all!
I'm new to this website and am warming up to it's rhythm.
I look out the window, turn on the radio, stand in the shower, sing at church, hug my children, hold hands with my hubby, wake up grumpy, read scripture, laugh at a joke....this is how I decide what to blog about.
It's life, with all it's beauty, pain, laughter, good days, bad days and a heaping of God's mercy!
I'm simply inspired by life and by being real.
