The Writer's Reverie

Kathryn “Miss Kathy” Ross, writer, speaker, and dramatist, ignites a love of literature, and learning as a family, through story and drama. Inspired by the stillness of birdsong, silent reflection, antiques, and teatime, she filters her love of history, classic literature, and the arts through God’s Word, to inform her words. Timeless truths leap from the page and podium as she ministers literacy and Christian living principles in schools, churches, libraries, and conferences—and blogging at The Writer’s Reverie. Check out the Podcasts page for links to Miss Kathy’s dramatized stories to inform and inspire children of all ages.

Plain Prayers

I have often been inspired by Plain People, that is Anabaptists, Quakers and various other radical reformation groups. The reasons are various. Two of the main ones are nonviolent ethics and a true sense of community. I love the concept of plain prayers. Plain prayers are simple prayers to our God who is love in the name of His son, Jesus, the Prince of Peace. You will also find the occasional mini-sermon, poem and thought on matters of life and faith here.

The Joy of LIfe Together

The Joy of Life Together is a blog that desires to encourage individuals to take a Missional approach to life. It focuses on encouragement, ways to build relationships, practical steps to become missional (finances, health, etc.) and so much more. It is our prayer that we are able to reach many people for Christ by teaching others to witness to others by meeting needs and building relationships first.

Gaming and God

My blog is all about video game culture, japanese animation and how that ties into God, the bible and Christianity. My relationship with my Heavenly Father overflows into every area of my life, including my hobbies like video games. Just like some people find sports, sewing, cars or fashion a hobby that they invest their leisure in, I want people who may be considered geeks, video game fans or viewers of anime to know that God loves them. There's a lot of symbolism and biblical parallels that can be found in these mediums and I explore them in my posts.

Peripheral Perceptions

Peripheral Perceptions records the observations of my life from different corners of my personality. In these mind wandering, I write about my faith in Jesus, kids, grandkids, dogs, cats, work, passions, friendships and relationships of all kinds. Mainly, it’s a trip through my inner thought processes. Sometimes a very dark place, other times full of rainbows and butterflies. If you wander in to read my mind, please leave the door wide open on your way out.
